Bloody hell, a while back if you knew the Rats were playing together you would have been delighted. Is a festival not a gig, albeit in a field?

It's really a case of going for the Rats, and hoping there is one or two good support acts on  before them. You can always go for a hike in the Dales, and then go to the gigsmile.

Just be glad the worlds best band are playing!

Ha ha, yes, I shouldn't complain. I will give this one a miss as I have at least 2 about an hour from me.

I'll leave it for a few months before deciding which ones to go to. I like travelling over to the gigs but at this stage I  just don't know how many more there will be. It's quite possible they may do a festival in Ireland too. We'll just have to wait and see.

Indeed, I will prioritise the other 2, as they close to home, so no hotels needed.

Another Friday night in a big top!  Ticket prices look reasonable as well.  I suppose they could still make it back to Glastonbury for Sunday...

Date: Friday, 27 June, 2014  |  Time: Site and bars opens at 6.30pm  |  Venue: Festival Marquee, Hebden Road, BD23 5LB  |  Ticket Price: £28

Bit of a pig to get to....

The nearest station is Skipton (9miles from Grassington)

http://www.grassington-festival.org.uk/information/getting-here/

And the nearby hotels are a bit pricey!

Grassington Hotels

Anyone going (Diffbrook? Melv?) who wants to meet and can recommend a pub in the village to that end?

Sorry Suss, not going to this one as we've moved back to the Midlands. Have booked for Skegness though so look forward to seeing you then if not before.

Hope you're well & enjoying the gigs.

Melv

Full set and exactly the same as previous, but a really good gig despite a couple of sound blips where guitars lost very briefly, and a self inflicted one where in his enthusiasm Bob accidentally threw his mike into the crowd.

This was effectively a standalone gig (with support) as it formed part of a series of events in Grassington Festival, as opposed to multiple acts all day etc. Doors only opened in the evening. Was a great marquee, front half with wood flooring, so to all in tents (biggrin) and purposes an indoor gig.

Really enjoyed it.

Pete Barton and family also there. Didn't see any others in crowd I know but there were hundreds there, maybe 800-900??

Stunning part of the world, and all geared up for Tour de France next weekend, and could see the incredulity amongst locals that a name band was playing in their village. Think Kylie Minogue (Elton John) in Dibley smile.

Well worth the SEVEN hour drive up and 5 hours back yesterday. Got to Norway faster than North Yorkshire!
